I came across this Bun Warmer Down Skirt from Title Nine. (https://www.titlenine.com/p/down-skirt-bun-warmer-mini/177012.html). It has two pockets on the sides, a zipper that runs in the middle to facilitate bathroom breaks and putting it on and off easily. I wear it with my fleece lined tights and a cute almost matching shade of green down vest. A nice addition to anyone’s winter wardrobe.
Nice! I’ve never seen anything like that. I might have to order one and try it out. Looks cozy and warm.
One of the pleasures of skirts is that they eliminate multiple layers of cloth between the legs and around the crotch. Tights, though good-looking, cancel this benefit (though admittedly with more stretchy compliance than standard trousers). For this reason, and the added ease of putting them on and off, I prefer very long socks to tights for insulating legs in winter. It took me a while to find socks that are longe enough to reach all the way up over my thigh muscles so they stay put all day, but I found them and I love them. So my winter wardrobe bottoms remain predominately skirts at or just above the knees, with long socks almost reaching my usual bikini-style undies. Max comfort and plenty of style.
That’s true and is something I don’t like about tights very much. I like your solution though! I’ve tried thigh-highs, but I find they don’t stay up very well.
Here in oregon i wear bikini panties a long skirt with a maxi skirt over that, If real cold i wear to pair of panties.
I don’t know if I could get away with not having an extra layer under my skirt here. It’s way too cold, even with a maxi skirt. But then it might just be me too…
In cold weather I tend to wear long skirts, but if I want to wear short ones I wear also thermic leggings, otk boots and coats.
Thermal leggings are a wonderful invention and is also what I mostly wear when it gets too cold. I’ve found I don’t like long skirts as much as shorter ones (around knee-length).
Well I mostly get rid of the comfort that you can have in 3 other “periods” of year, so I have some extremely thick tights (170 density or so), long to calf (?) tartan-like skirt and that’s really it.
That’s pretty much how I do it too, although I wear thermal tights or leggings.
