A lot of men indulge in their passion of gender non-conforming clothing (skirts, dresses, heels, tights, etc) in secret and would be horrified if their families found out about it. As such, it would be interesting to know how many of you keep it a secret from your families and how many of you have told them.
If you have told them, what were their reactions? Do you regularly wear them around your family members? If you haven’t told them, why? What would have to happen for you to tell them? Let us know in the comments below!

I look at least as good in a skirt as in shorts or pants, and only my one right-wing sister wrinkles here nose about it. Otherwise, all are “you do you” and that’s the way it works all around our active, extended family.
That’s great to hear! It really helps to have a (mostly) supportive family. It seems to me that people who are right-wing and try to control other people’s behavior all in the name of freedom and liberty tend to lack any sort of self-reflection.
Well, when it comes to my closest family, all my brothers know about what I’m doing. They seem to not care although the youngest one told me I look awful, but that’s it, he shared his opinion. I keep it secret for my father because I think he would be really upset or end up with some heart attack. He’s already suspicious on me as for him it’s odd that I’m 28 yrs old and still a virgin, so revealing myself in a skirt would just connect all the dots in his mind that I’m gay or something, even if I’m not – and saying ‘skirt is more comfortable than pants’ might not be enough to make it understandable. Even if, it could be same discussion in winter once he sees me in tights.
So I’m currently handling it in a way that, since I work remotely, I spend half of day in skirt (till 3 pm) and then I replace skirt with trousers so when he’s back, it’s all ‘normal’. It really sucks that I do it this way, while I have no problem now wearing skirt + thigh highs and going to tax office, grocery or shopping mall.
I plan to finally do it in front of father’s eyes on my birthday and then I’ll see how it will turn out.
I’m glad your brothers are so supportive even if the one thinks it looks awful. Not everyone has the same taste, so he may not like everything you wear even if you were wearing men’s clothes. It’s sad that men who like to wear skirts or dresses are automatically thought of by many people as gay. There’s nothing wrong with being gay, but why does what you wear have to have anything to do with it? In any case, I wish you the best of luck doing it in front of your father on your birthday! I hope everything goes well!
Thanks, I’m stressed and curious at the same time thinking about it, I’ll definitely let you know about ‘the results’.
I can imagine! I wish you the best of luck and definitely let me know how it went!
