Yes, I do. I stopped wearing pyjamas around 45 years ago.
Very nice! I only discovered nightgowns recently which means I still have some normal pyjamas I wear, but I will not be replacing them once they are worn out.
Nein, ich schlafe seit jeher nackt.
Auch gut. Im Winter ist das mir zu kalt…
Thanks somewhat to Duolingo, I can understand this basic level of German!
Great! Duolingo is really a great app. I tried learning French with it once before a trip to France and it did help quite a bit.
Yes. I wear night shirts only for sleep. Been wearing them for many years. I have several made of bamboo fiber which is super soft and stretchy. Love them. On the weekends I’ll wear them till lunch as I have coffee, walk the dog, etc. it is basically a dress and the most comfortable thing I own
The bamboo nightgowns sound incredibly comfortable! I might have to look for one 🙂
Caveat: don’t sleep with a giant panda.
We had a set of satin sheets some years ago. Felt great for sleeping nude, but everything kept slipping off the bed! So, we went back to cotton or bamboo sheets, and I wear a satin chemise for that glorious feeling of satin on skin.
Satin is very nice! I’ve always thought it was a little too cold in the winter though. I’m probably thinking of that right now because it’s gotten so cold here in Southern Germany the past few days.
I have one that looks a bit like a normal above-the-knee dress but since it’s comfortable, I decided to use it as such nightgown. I also have a “little black dress” that I use as nightgown due to little shreds it has, the design as it does not have any narrowing at the waist (so it makes me look thicker than I believe I am – but that’s not really important when it comes to actual purpose of nightgown) and I don’t want to get rid of it for any “recycling” purpose, also to remind myself of keeping my wardrobe organized and not let any stuff slide into oblivion.
That’s a great way to reuse old dresses! I love the idea and will have to steal it when my dresses wear out. That might take a while though since I don’t wear them very often. 😉
I do, mostly before bedtime or in the mornings, walk the dogs in the yard etc. I sleep in it when its very cold or I’m alone in the bed(after working night shift), it gets to warm otherwise with the winter down blanket and a spaceheater for a wife. 🙂
Polarn och pyret (pop) has a great super comfy unisex, long sleeve, ankle length one in cotton. I also have a short sleeve above the knee one thats nicer in the summer.
That’s fair enough. Wearing them just before or after bed is also good. That’s what I do in the summer. My wife and I don’t heat the bedroom in winter, so it gets pretty cold in there.
Thanks for the suggestion! I’ll check it out!
not a nightgown but I do wear a kind of mini skirt
A mini skirt could be comfortable on warm days!
Yes, I wear a nightshirt to bed. I find them very comfortable, my current one is all cotton from Brooks Brothers and goes down to just above my ankles. Sometimes I wear tube socks that nearly go to my knees, so I’m covered. I used to wear the older style yoke-front boxer shorts and sleeveless athletic undershirts under my nightshirt but found them to be too restrictive, so I now am nude under the nightshirt. When I go to the bathroom and I have to sit on the toilet, I just lift my shirt and sit down if I’m defecating or stay standing if I’m only urinating. I placed a large enough mirror in front of my toilet to see if “anything is exposed” when sitting down, and “nothing is exposed” because of the longer length of the shirt.
I also find them much more comfortable than most pajamas you find for men in stores. I like your tube sock idea. I wear mine with cotton leggings in the winter because I enjoy the extra coverage to keep me warm at night. Otherwise, I only wear underwear underneath them.
