Heels are a form of Chinese foot binding. It can lead to feet and leg injury. Wearing a skirt, for me, is about comfort.
I don’t even support heels on women. They’re dangerous.
They certainly can be dangerous and unhealthy. I wear them occasionally because I enjoy them, but my level of comfort highly depends on the shoe. Most of mine are not that high and are comfortable boots with a block heel rather than a super high stiletto heel.
Depends what you mean by heels. I don’t wear traditional women’s stilettos or anything more than 2 inches or so high. My feet are too large to find any, for one thing, but I’m also already over 6 ft tall and don’t need to hit my head on doorframes, either. I do wear some boots both low and high on the legs that have block heels, but mostly in cooler weather. In summer, it’s usually flats or sandals.
What I mean by heels is anything that is higher than what you would normally find in the men’s department. I would consider 2 inches to definitely be heels. When I first started out wearing skirts and heels, I went through a phase where I stilettos and the highest possible shoes I could find despite being 6’2″ and having size 13 (US) feet. I definitely hit my head on a few door frames. Now, I don’t wear much of anything over 3-4 inches.
They are not good for support, posture, or safety. Yes, they ‘tickle our fantasies’ and can look good — but truly they are not pragmatic for the human anatomy — for men or women. Why do stupid to ‘look’ good?
They really aren’t good for you at all, but I enjoy wearing them occasionally because it not only enhances the outfit in my opinion, but it increases the “rebelliousness” of the entire ensamble.
I can’t find any heels big enough to fit my size 14 wide feet. If anyone knows of a source Im all ears…
