This article is an interesting discussion about gendered clothing. It uses men in skirts as an example to illustrate the pointlessness of it.

Yep. OK. can’t argue.
Oh yeah, associating men wearing skirts with ‘woke’ concept/community is probably one of worst things you can read on the Internet – especially for guys who’re nowhere near supporting this ‘movement’. I really think that people mostly do not know who Harry Styles is, or simply did not encounter “men in skirts” enough times to reconsider these things. We would need some really serious and famous ‘incident’, something like Wimbledon final with Novak Djokovic or/and Carlos Alcaraz wearing skirts for the whole game. That’s what I would see as game changer that could cause the “mid-class” to also wear skirts and ignite the concept like never before. Some movements like punks started from the very bottom (and yet were limited to specific age, I’d say), while the one here probably needs some mainstream support, and that can obviously raise the conspiracy theories about how media/corporations to make men be women or something.
“Woke” has really just become a collective term for anything conservatives don’t like it seems like. We really need a lot mainstream male celebrities wearing skirts. That would really help with the movement a lot. Brad Pitt and others have already helped a lot, but we still need more and we need more celebrities who aren’t as “high up” and “untouchable” as Brad Pitt!
