Cool, if still a bit of the over-the-top fashionista flavor to the examples. Not exactly showing a real-people trend there. I think this quote says it right: “To become truly mainstream, men’s skirts would need to combine the pencil skirt with a multipocketed work trouser,” said Prof Andrew Groves, the director of the Westminster Menswear Archive at the University of Westminster. And that is, pretty much, just how I rock – most every day.
Yeah, that’s unfortunately the case with a lot of these types of articles as well as fashion shows. They are too over-the-top for them to become mainstream. I absolutely agree with the quotation. If skirts are going to become mainstream for men, there needs to be a good selection of more utilitarian skirts that mimic men’s pants/shorts to an extent. I think that would be necessary at least at the beginning. Maybe over time, it “wilder” designs could be successfully marketed towards men.
Meh, these outfits are OK (this photo with 3 girls and 1 boy is probably to show how “close” Jaden Smith is in that clothes), but again, fashion needs to slightly look more into usability of clothes that are supposed to be “trend” – ordinary people might have a big wardrobe, but wear maybe 20% of clothes they have and the ones they show are not really of this kind to just casually hit the street on Tuesday.
I certainly agree with you there. That has always been the problem about fashion shows for me…
