Great video! Love the woman’s commentary about how it’s sexism to mock a man for dressing up as a female hero when women are not mocked for dressing as male heros. Wish the male pundit would’ve shut up about his pirate example. Interrupted her and didn’t allow her to truly express herself.
It is definitely sexism! I suspect the male pundit going on and on about his pirate example was his way of coping with a topic that seemed awkward for him. It’s annoying he wouldn’t let off though. Typical, empathetically deaf male behavior.
Yeah, Mark is probably just an “unnamed” king or some kind of modern pioneer of “male wearing skirts and heels” concept, making it more mainstream to the “mature” audience (as obviously “femboy” style, which is not exactly the same, but based on same principles, will be rather unknown for people in 40+ age).
I probably shouldn’t check the comments section, but, well, one question hit me there “Honest question here: which ladies here would date a man who wears this kind of clothes?” – and this is probably the biggest issue of guys who “have problem” with Mark or any other guy wearing skirt – urge to impress somebody (in this case to “some ladies”). Is this some kind of insecurity? Probably not, but today’s world (at least the so called “Western” part of it) really gives us a chance to put priority on ourselves while not losing grip and contact with other people (instead of being slaves to someone’s opinions)
When I wear skirt, I absolutely do not care about dating any woman, and neither do I expect any random or known girl to have a date with me.
I think you’re right about some men being worried if women will find them attractive in skirts. The answer though is that some will and some won’t… just like any other garment they wear. It took a little bit for my wife to get used to me wearing them, but now she finds them quite attractive on men and not just in a physical/visual sense. She finds the type of man who would be open-minded enough to wear gender-non-conforming clothes attractive.
