Well, given that female regularly break this so called rule, I find it difficult to consider it as relevant in 21st century. I’m not even sure if the problem is in the translation, it just seems that for ages society used different colours of same clothes to spot the difference (blue/pink dresses for example). But now, making male stop wearing skirt because of Bible / Koran looks like a total hypocrisy and mindset focused on obeying someone’s instruction at all time, unable to accept free will that God supposedly gave us. If wearing “wrong” clothes is a sin, then I’m not sure how many sins exist there that are just an usage of free will
I often wonder what the Bible/Koran would say if it was written in the 21st century,I think God would judge the person not their clothes.I always say treat others how you would expect to be treated with respect and tolerance, the world would be a boring place if we all dressed the same, wear what you are comfortable/enjoy wearing.I think some would have us all in uniform wearing the same thing !
It’s entirely irrelevant in the 21st century and is really just another way to control people in my opinion…
