Chip over at Everybody Skirts has written another great article. This time it’s about getting your partner’s support for wearing skirts. I decided to post this because I have heard from several men who have had issues with their partners due to their desire to wear gender-non-conforming clothes and I thought it might provide them with some good advice that will hopefully help them.

I appreciate you sharing this, Alex. It seems to be the hardest struggle for many men, and a blocker for the rest of the journey.
It definitely is! It seems like this is one of the most common hurdles that men face which is why I really wanted to share it. Thank you for writing it!
Well, if your partner does not support your clothing choice (or even goes as far as mobbing you for that), you’ll better end up being alone. However, if your partner supports that and even helps to some degree with polishing your style, then you’ll feel something a single guy could only dream of feeling ever.
I think it highly depends on the circumstances whether you’re better off alone or not and, of course, her reasoning for not supporting you. If she doesn’t like her man wearing skirts because of gender stereotypes, that’s different than if she just doesn’t like it because of the style (she may not like wearing skirts herself). Of course, if she does support you, you really can’t ask for better conditions than that!
