I have featured Everybody Skirts on this blog before, but I found this particular article to be very interesting since it discusses a problem that most of us men who have worn skirts have probably faced at one point or another: the bulge.
In it, he gives tips about how to avoid it or embrace it, depending on what you prefer.
Elephant in the Room: Skirts and the Male Bulge
One issue for a number of skirted males, is whether to obscure the appearance of a bulge. Yes, one of his more excellent essays.
I agree!
Thanks for posting this, Alex. It was an interesting topic to explore, and attempt to classify “solutions” for.
Glad to. I thought it was useful because it’s something all of us men have probably had to deal with at one point or another when wearing skirts.
Interesting article, a bunch of things to consider when choosing a skirt. I personally haven’t thought about the bulge (although it might be “visible” as I mostly wear pencil skirts) – I was more afraid about revealing “too much” from the opposite side of my body. Given the weather though (and seeing how some girls’ outfits look like, not even mentioning mini dresses that are more like shirts), it might make sense to try some skater skirts.
Still, pencil skirt while bulgy, definitely prevents wind to expand the “naked” body. Skirt with irregular pattern is something I haven’t thought about, so might give it a go one day. And kilt being considered the best isn’t a surprise, although there will be still some folks arguing that kilt is not a skirt (so what?), but who cares.
I agree that it was interesting and I thought it might be useful advice! I generally don’t wear many skirts that would show a bulge, but I do have a couple of them. I figure it doesn’t matter too much though because I also have skinny jeans that show a bulge…
