I don’t like the phrase cross dress. When women wear men’s clothes are they considered cross dressing, no. Wearing a skirt or dress is a personal choice that we make just as much as picking what pants to wear. The sooner we drop labels we open the clothing choices to all.
You’re right about that. For me, crossdressing is when a person is trying to appear as another gender rather than just wearing clothes typically associated with them. I wouldn’t apply that term to men wearing skirts, but not wanting to appear as a woman. If they want to fully appear as a woman, then I would use it. Obviously, that just applies to cis-gender people wanting to temporarily appear as another gender.
