A few weeks ago, I posted a poll that asked the question of whether or not I should write more about gender-related content rather than just sticking to the regular program of skirt-related stories and experiences.
Since there was a lot of discussion about it on both the post itself as well as on Instagram, I thought I would post about the results of the poll as of today, November 9th, 2024. The poll is still open, so it may still change, but here is a screenshot of how it looks as I’m writing this:
It would appear that most of you are for me posting more gender-related content which I am happy to do. I have several ideas for posts that address gender-related issues and also about how they relate to gender-non-conformity in clothing.
Of course, I still have plenty of other experiences and posts about other topics to write as well, so you don’t have to worry about the focus of this blog shifting. Gender will just be an additional topic I will include.
I’m looking forward to reading about what you think about the content and, as always, will be open to any feedback and discussion about it.
Didn’t see the poll but unfortunately gender issues are wrapped up in men wearing skirts. If they weren’t, your website wouldn’t really exist.
Gender issues shouldn’t play a role in what one wants to wear but as we all know, they do. They stupidly play a gigantic role in what we choose to wear.
My opinion is you should write what you want to. Maintaining such a site is a ton of work. If you want to write about gender issues, do so. If your website is not a labor of love, it dies.
And one thing your website strikes a chord with me about is the perception of femininity. Personally, I don’t want to be a woman or even be feminine. I want to wear clothes traditionally associated with women but in my style as a man who just finds skirts to be more comfortable than pants and shorts. I also think skirts look better. I find myself looking now at both women and what women are wearing. And I really don’t love the ultra feminine styles. They work on some women but for me, not my cup of tea. I’m glad some men want that look and I hope they can achieve it. I don’t think less of them nor do I envy their uphill battle. But for me, I enjoy being male and wearing skirts in my style. A style I am still developing.
And that’s something I appreciate about your site. It’s a site that pushes an idea that men should wear what they want but without any need to try and look like a woman to be “allowed” to wear the clothing they want
They are wrapped up in men wearing skirts. Otherwise, as you said, there wouldn’t be any issue with it and my website wouldn’t need to exist. While I enjoy writing about it, I would actually prefer it if there was no reason for such websites to exist.
Wearing skirts or other articles of clothing from the women’s department without having to present as a woman is definitely what this website is about. I have no issue whatsoever with men who crossdress and want to look like women. In fact, I have a ton of respect for how well some of them are able to pull it off and I can admire that. It’s just not for me. I’m certainly open-minded towards it and have even experimented with makeup, long hair (both wigs and letting my own grow out), etc myself. In the end, it just wasn’t for me. That doesn’t mean I’m going to give up the parts I do like though: skirts and heels.
love the AI picture for this post
I really liked it too!
Great that you want to expand scope of topics and as mentioned by many, can’t really jump over “gender topics” as of today for male in skirt. Every day we can see spam of what real men should be and should do, while can’t really find such list of ingredients for “real women”
They really are intertwined which is why I thought it might be appropriate to write a little bit more about gender as a whole.
